How to Bid & Register for our Auctions

To participate in our Live Online Auctions, you must first register either through our website or via an external platform such as iBidder or BidSpotter.

For our Timed Online Auctions, the auction is only listed on Ibidder/Bidspotter/Saleroom, therefore you will need to register through one of these websites.

During the registration process, you will be required to provide a debit card for verification purposes. A temporary charge of £0.10 will appear as ‘Pending’ on your bank statement; however, this amount will not be debited from your account.

Once registration is complete, it will undergo a review process which may take up to two working hours (Please note, this is only during our opening hours). You will receive confirmation upon approval. If your registration is declined, please contact our office to discuss the next steps.

Please note, If you have not previously registered or made a purchase with us, a fully refundable deposit of £200 is required before your registration can be approved. This deposit can be paid securely via a payment link or by bank transfer.

Yes, please note the following:
VAT is charged on the Hammer Price (Subject to each lot)
A Buyers Premium of 19% and VAT on the premium also apply.
If the lot is 20% VAT rated, the Total Additional Charges on top of the Hammer Price is 42.8%.
If the lot is 0% VAT rated, the Total Additional Charges on top of the Hammer Price is 22.8%.

When viewing lots on our website catalogue, the VAT status is displayed beneath the starting bid as either 20% or 0%.

If you are browsing lots on an external platform (such as iBidder or BidSpotter), please click the ‘Additional Fees?’ button under the lot on the catalogue page. This will display the applicable ‘VAT/sales tax on the hammer price’, indicated as either 20% or 0%.

For our Live Online Auction – We offer viewing by appointment only for our specialist lots, including Vehicles, Plant & Machinery, and Bikes (Lots 2000 and above). Viewings are available on the Tuesday prior to the auction by appointment only.

For any Online Timed Sales – The viewing date and times are stipulated in the specific Auction Details.

Our Live Online Auctions are held every 2–3 weeks. We regularly have timed sales which are listed on Ibidder and Bidspotter. Please visit our website regularly for the latest catalogue updates and auction schedules.

All of our auctions are conducted entirely online. Please note that in-room bidding is not permitted.

he Live Online auction will go live at 10:30am, at which point you will be able to watch the Auctioneer in real-time via your chosen registration platform.

Once the auction begins, the Auctioneer will announce the lot number (Starting at lot 1) and provide a brief description before opening the bidding. All lots typically open with a starting bid request of £50; however, this amount may be adjusted at the Auctioneer’s discretion.
Bid increments are set solely at the Auctioneer’s discretion.

To place bids, your registration must be fully approved prior to the auction.

All specialist lots including Vehicles, Plant & Machinery, and Bikes (Lots numbered 2000 and above) will be sold at 12:00pm on auction day.

The general auction will be paused temporarily to accommodate the sale of these items, after which we will resume the general auction.

Congratulations on a successful bid! If you have won any lots, you will receive an invoice to your registered email within 1 hour of the auction finishing. If you do not receive an invoice and believe you have won a lot, please contact our office on 0161 737 5252.

If you registered and placed your bids through our website, your invoice will include a secure payment link located at the bottom right corner. You can use your registered card details to complete the payment via this link.

If you registered and bid via an external platform (such as iBidder, BidSpotter, or The Saleroom), you will receive your invoice along with a separate email containing a secure payment link. This link allows you to pay using the card details associated with your registration.

Alternatively, payment can be made via Bank Transfer using the account details provided on your invoice or in the payment link email.

Once you have made payment for your won lots, you will need to contact our office on 0161 737 5252 to arrange a collection appointment. For our Live Online Thursday Auctions, our collection opening hours are:

Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm
Saturday 8am – 11:30am
Monday 8:30am – 4:30pm
Tuesday 8:30am – 4:30pm

Goods purchased from our Main Auction Centre in Salford can be loaded onto your nominated transport as we have fork lift trucks (Unless the items are over 1.5 tonne and you will then need specialist removal vehicles to uplift).

Collection for all lots purchased on a Timed Sale is stipulated in the specific Auction Details.

There may not be lifting equipment available for external timed sales and this will be stated within the auction details. Also plant and equipment may need decommissioning but we will state this in the details or the lot descriptions.

Please note that we do not offer a delivery service.
If your lots are based in Salford, we can provide a packaging service at the following rates:
£24.00 + VAT per pallet
£24.00 + VAT for boxed items (regardless of the number of boxes)
If you would like to use our packaging service, please contact our office on 0161 737 5252.
Once confirmed, we will forward your details to the warehouse team for packaging.
When packaging is complete, you will receive an email with the dimensions of your items to assist you in arranging a courier collection. We kindly ask that you arrange courier collection as soon as possible after receiving your dimensions.
Please note our courier collection hours:
Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 5:00pm

By registering for our auctions, you confirm your agreement to our Terms and Conditions of Sale.
Once a winning bid has been placed, you have entered into a legally binding contract to complete payment and collect the purchased lots within the specified timeframe.
Failure to comply with these terms may result in a permanent ban being placed on your registered account.

As outlined in our Terms and Conditions, the deadlines for our Live Online Thursday Sales are as follows:

  • Payment: Due on or before the Monday following the sale
  • Collection: Due on or before the Tuesday following the sale

For our Timed Online Sales, the deadline for payment and collections are stipulated on the specific Auction Details.

Failure to complete payment within the specified timeframe may result in a permanent ban being applied to your registered account.

Items not collected by the deadline may incur storage charges.

We encourage all prospective bidders to ask any questions necessary to ensure they are fully satisfied with a lot prior to bidding.
