Timeline of our history as an auctioneer

The Beginning
The Beginning
On the site where the Oglala Sioux Native American tribe once settled in Salford, Charles Taylor Auctioneers was established in 1885, going on to become a respected local auction house with a strong reputation in the local community.

Major Commercial Projects
Major Commercial Projects
During the late 1900s, we expanded its auction operations, handling larger and more specialised sales, including the auction of selected props from the Gimberts Studios project in Openshaw, Manchester. This marked a significant milestone in the company’s growth and auction expertise.
Late 1900s
SSI & Hatfield
SSI & Hatfield
We secured and successfully delivered two major, distinct auction projects, SSI Redcar and the Hatfield Colliery, each representing significant, large-scale industrial operations. Acting as the appointed auction house, the company managed the sales process for both sites, overseeing the disposal of extensive assets. The successful completion of these high-profile projects further strengthened our reputation for handling complex, large-scale commercial auctions.
2015
Wolf Minerals
Wolf Minerals
In 2018, we continued to showcase our presence within the industry through our involvement in a project for Wolf Minerals, further strengthening our experience and adding to our consistent record of successfully completed auctions.
2018
Today, we continue to grow by running live and timed online auctions, selling thousands of items each month and reaching buyers across the UK and Europe. The business offers a wide range of high-quality and high-value items, from specialist equipment to premium goods, maintaining its reputation as a trusted and established name in the British auction industry.
